FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. How many Test Categories can be set up?
A. There is no limit to the number of categories
Q. How many Candidates can sit the tests at the same time?.
A. Because WKAS can be accessed from anywhere, any number of Candidates can sit the tests at the same time.
Q. What resources does the Company Administrator have to have to use WKAS?
A. The Company Administrator must have a PC and connection to the internet and also be a registered user.
Q. Can the Company Administrator access any existing Test Categories?
A. Yes, a number of generic categories come free of charge for use by the Company Administrator.
Q. What does it cost to purchase ten tokens?
A. £25 + VAT each
Q. What is the pass mark on the tests?
A. The pass mark is determined by the Company Administrator in setting up the Tests Categories.
If the pass mark on the generic tests is too high or low, the Company Administrator
may change the percentages.
Q. Can the Company Administrator determine how long each test should take?
A. In the test set-up the Company Administrator determines the duration each question
should take to answer. On completion of the Candidate Test set-up a guide is provided
once the number of questions is chosen, however this is a guide as the questions are
randomly selected from the database and each question may have a different
time duration.
Q. How does the Candidate know how long they have left for the test?
A. The candidate can determine how long they have for the Category they are working on by checking
the time display on the left-hand side of the screen.
Q. If the Candidate loses the internet connection part-way through the test will they be able to log in again?
A. No, another test will have to be setup for them.
Q. What is the maximum number of questions that can be included in setting up a category?
A. In the initial set-up there is no limit to the number of questions. In setting the number
of questions for a particular candidate, two thirds of the total questions in that category is the maximum.
Q. What is the minimum number of questions in a test?
A. The minimum number is 1.
Q. In what circumstances can tests be used?
A. When recruiting for new staff, following induction or to assess the knowledge
of existing staff members on particular processes/business activities.
Q. Who advises the candidate of the requirement to do the test?
A. The Company Administrator or their Manager. The candidate may be notified
electronically that the test has been set up if the Company Administrator has chosen this
option in the Test Set-Up.
Q. Once the Company Administrator sets up the test does the Company get charged for the test even if the candidate does not take the test?
A. No the Company is charged for each test completed.
Q. Can candidates doing the same tests together cheat?
A. No, the questions in each category for each test are randomly drawn from the
database of questions, therefore the sequences of questions and the questions for
each candidate will be different.
Q. To add additional categories and questions to the generic categories what
should the Company Administrator do?
A. Determine what categories should be included, these can cover a particular department,
a particular skill or knowledge set or a particular business process. Decide upon the
questions for each category and add them, with the multiple choice answers, to the system.
Q. What if the Company Administrator does not have time to do this?
A. This function can be delegated to anyone of the Administrator's choice or
alternatively the workplace WKAS Administrator can assist as an additional service.
Q. Are the tests a psychometric test?
A. No. The tests are workplace related tests, they are not norm based and the assessment
of the specific tests are appropriate for a particular role or candidate are determined by
the Company. They are a tool to assist in adding a more objective component to the assessment process.
Q. How secure is my data?
A. We use industry standard (or better) firewall technology to protect your personal data in our databases.
Q. Do I have Data Protection Rights?
A. Over and above the candidate test results you receive and the information you may access via the web,
you have the right to request a copy of any other information held by us about you in our records in return for the payment of a small fee.
You also have the right to correct any inaccuracies in the information.
Q. What data do you collect about our organisation?
A. Your Internet Protocol address is automatically stored to assist in the diagnosis of problems with our server and to
identify your requirements. We may use cookies to save your password that will assist you when you re-enter this site.
